Oil Control Baffle

The Cosworth Subaru Oil Pan Baffle has been engineered with diverters to control oil returning from the cylinder heads to the pan directing it away from the crankshaft. Additionally, one-way valves prevent oil from reentering the upper crankcase chamber thereby limiting blow by and preventing oil starvation during hard driving.

High performance engines dissipate a substantial amount of heat through the oil system. Maintaining oil pressure and control along with an increase in actual volume will help assist this process and stabilize oil temperatures. Cosworth Engine oil pumps are high flowed and pressure blueprinted.

To ensure engine reliability in all conditions, original connecting rods should be replaced with heavy duty specification parts. Cosworth Forged Connecting Rods are manufactured from high strength 4340 (EN24) steel and machined to exacting tolerances.

Big port Cylinder Heads with Camshafts (2.5lt Only)

Each original cylinder head design has been carefully evaluated and tested to establish what improvements are required to meet target performance levels. Hours of testing and flow bench validation are used to determine the best advanced port design yielding maximum usable power and response. However, there is more to cylinder head design than just maximum flow. It is critical that port velocity is maintained to ensure drivability, and that valve train components are matched to guarantee reliable performance. Once all of these factors have been tested and validated, the final port contour is digitized. Using the digitized program, we then reshape both intake and exhaust ports using a 5 axis CNC mill producing an accurate and consistent port shape every time. In addition to re-shaping and enlarging the intake and exhaust ports, most Big Valve Cylinder heads feature a re-shaped combustion chamber to un-shroud the valves, increasing air flow and performance. After machining, each cylinder head receives a multi-angle high performance valve job on our precision Newen® CNC valve seat cutter. Then each cylinder head is ultrasonically cleaned, serialized and finally hand assembled with select high performance valve train components, ready to install on your engine.

Intake and Exhaust Valves

Large diameter valves are essential for improved air flow. Cosworth high performance intake valves are produced from high quality stainless steel for maximum durability. Exhaust valves are machined from Inconel for high temperature (2400° F) reliability. Each valve features a swirl polished back for improved air flow and dished face for additional weight reduction. Some Cosworth High Performance Valves are only compatible with Cosworth Ultra Race Valve Spring Kits.

Intake Manifold

The Cosworth Subaru High Volume Inlet Manifold is cast from aluminium featuring large tapered runners with radiused inlets for improved air flow. Plenum volume has been substantially increased and tuned for power. Engineered for easy installation, this manifold is the key to making big power. The Cosworth EJ257 plenum is designed for use with the 2004-2009 STI engines equipped with electronic throttle control. The plenum is not designed for use with any cable-actuated throttle body EJ20/25 applications. This plenum is designed to replace the factory Subaru plenum in vehicles equipped with an aftermarket front-mounted intercooler (FMIC) kit. Throttle body position remains stock, ensuring fitment with any brand FMIC kit designed for the stock throttle body and intake manifold.

Thermal Intake Manifold Gaskets

The Cosworth Thermal Guard Composite Intake Gasket is designed to reduce inlet air temperature by isolating the intake manifold from the heat generated by the engine's cylinder head. Reducing the temperature of the inlet manifold also reduces the temperature of the intake air charge. The density of cooler air is greater than that of warm air. A denser intake air charge contains more oxygen thereby producing in increased power and torque.

Dry Sump Kit

The Cosworth Dry Sump Setup Kit for the Subaru EJ series engine is a must for race and performance applications. Dry sump oiling systems offer an unparalleled level of safety and reliability compared to factory Wet Sump systems. Complete crankcase oil scavenging reduces excessive and residual oil that can cause blow-by and power loss. A dry sump also offers more consistent oil pressure to the engine, improved scavenging, and increased ring seal due to greater pan vacuum. The Cosworth Dry Sump System for the Subaru EJ20/EJ25 replaces the original oil sump with a machined from solid, low profile alloy pan with twin scavenge ports, internal baffling and o-ring sealing. A two stage scavenge pump driven by a HTD belt, mounted to a heavy duty bracket evacuates the oil from the engine.

Fast DeliveryWe choose to use our good friends at TNT to delivery our goods Australia wide. With very competitive rates and fast delivery times, you will be sure to have your vehicle back on the road in no time at all.

Each engine sent from us will contain no gearbox oil due to increased fire risks in transit.

If your new engine is being delivered to a residential address, please ensure there is someone home to assist the TNT driver as most TNT trucks do not have a rear tail gate lift.

The gearbox will be secured to a skid or similar and will contain a completed return consignment note for hassle free return of the exchange unit. You can simply call TNT direct or call us and we will have TNT collect the unit from your address.

For customers that purchase exchange units from us, we would request that the gearboxes are drained of gearbox oil prior to returning them.

You are welcome to arrange your own transport if you have pre-existing accounts with other carriers.

Please read prior to installing Subaru Engines or spare parts!
All Subaru reconditioned, remanufactured engines installed by a 3rd party are covered by a 12 month or 25,000km which ever occurs first part warranty only. All Subaru reconditioned, remanufactured engines installed by Subaru Engines Australia (All Drive Subaroo Pty Ltd) are covered by a 24 month or 50,000km which ever occurs first parts and labour warranty.
All 2nd hand used parts are covered by a 3 month replacement part warranty only. All new genuine Subaru parts are covered by a 12 month or 25, 000km whichever occurs first replacement part warranty only. Note: No reconditioned, remanufactured Subaru engine will be warranted under any circumstances if fitted to a vehicle that has modifications to the following areas.
Fuel system including fuel pump, fuel regulator, fuel rails, fuel injectors
Engine management system including reflashing unless carried out by Subaru Engines Australia (All Drive Subaroo Pty Ltd)
Intake air pipes, air boxes, relocation of air mass meter.
Turbo charger modification including boost control devices.
Oil systems that are modified, this includes oil pans, oil pump, oil filters, oil coolers that are non – Subaru manufactured.
Engines reconditioned / remanufactured by Subaru Engines Australia that contain non OEM parts such as forged pistons, modified engine oil pans, oil pumps etc. with clearances set according to non – OEM instructions that are outside Subaru manufacturers specifications are categorized as Motorsport engines.
All Motorsport engines are supplied with 6 months or 25,000km warranty whichever occurs first when installed by Subaru Engines Australia (All Drive Subaroo Pty Ltd) All Motorsport engines that are installed by a 3rd party are covered by a 6 month or 25,000km whichever occurs first parts warranty only. We take pride in upgraded or remanufactured units that we sell and take every precaution to ensure trouble free operation. In the unlikely event of a problem, Subaru Engines Australia (All Drive Subaroo Pty Ltd) will send a replacement part, engine or repair the defective one, which ever we choose.
Labour reimbursements for authorized in vehicle repairs will be determined according to a flat rate manual and only provided if the engine or failed component was installed by Subaru Engines Australia (All Drive Subaroo Pty Ltd) Labor rates are based on the automotive industry average for each state. Freight expense will be paid by Subaru Engines Australia (All Drive Subaroo Pty Ltd) if parts are deemed to be faulty after an inspection is carried out by Subaru Engines Australia (All Drive Subaroo Pty Ltd) Subaru Engines Australia (All Drive Subaroo Pty Ltd) reserves the right to choose transport method and carrier company. Subaru Engines Australia (All Drive Subaroo Pty Ltd) is not responsible for the consequential expenses such as travel, hotels, meals, towing, car rental etc.
All Units are shipped dry. Please refer to the owner’s manual for specifications related to lubrication. Warranty is void if incorrect lubricant is used.
Warranty on reconditioned, remanufactured units will be void if the engine has failed due to insufficient lubrication or overheating. It is the customer’s responsibility to maintain engine oil level and water levels. Any suspected leaks must be taken care of before damage occurs.
Failed/over-heated engines due to over revving are not covered under warranty.
All re-manufactured engines must be serviced in accordance to Subaru Engines Australia (All Drive Subaroo Pty Ltd) terms and conditions.
All reconditioned / remanufactured engines must have the engine oil and filter change after the first 20 minutes of running.
Service Intervals should be either 6 months or 8,000kms whichever occurs first.
All Engine warranty is not transferable.
If the vehicle is serviced outside of Subaru Engines Australia (All Drive Subaroo Pty Ltd), documentation supporting vehicle servicing intervals must be provided if a warranty claim is made. All Servicing receipts must contain the following information; Customers name, Registration details, date of service, distance traveled.
Failing to provide the requested documents will void any warranty claim made on the engine/Subaru Engines Australia (All Drive Subaroo Pty Ltd)

If you find the warranty terms and condition unacceptable, please return the component or rebuilt, remanufactured gearbox in its original un-used state for a complete refund within 7 days from the invoice date.

Making the right decision about Subaru Engine Installation is as important about choosing the right Subaru replacement Engine.
Failure to inspect, replace or renew vital related components can cause damage to your replacement engine.
At our NSW Subaru Engine Installation facility (Subaru Engines Australia) we ensure that all components that may have caused the initial engine failure are fixed prior to releasing the vehicle back to our customers.
Any serviceable item related to the engines cooling systems such as water by-pass hoses, heater hoses and radiator hoses are renewed.
We have generated a basic list of items that we consider important and should not be over looked when installing your replacement Subaru Engine;

  • Serviceable radiator condition and correct operation
  • All Cooling System water hoses renewed.
  • Main drive belts inspected and renewed if necessary.
  • Engine management components inspected for correct operation.
  • Service items such as Oils and Filters renewed.

All of the above mention services are part of our standard process when installing our Re-manufactured Subaru engines.
